Mizuho Corporate Global’s success has driven our growth and, as a result, we seek a "Equity Trader" to join our organization in our Tokyo office. This represents a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidates to take a leap forward in his/her career by joining one of the few trading operations to post market-beating returns in what was a difficult year for Asian equities.

Background
• The successful candidate will possess 3-5 years grounding in equities but experience in other asset classes would be viewed as a distinct advantage
• Candidates will have a deep and intimate understanding of long short equity strategies and be fully conversant with the workings of arbitrage
• The candidate must be articulate, know the markets, and appreciate risk/reward

Role and Responsibilities
• The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, initiating, researching and undertaking due diligence as well as valuing, executing and monitoring portfolio positions
• Assume responsibility for driving efficiency within our trading operations including trading systems, broker relationships, P&L reporting etc.
• A strong understanding of technology and the ability to collaborate with IT and quantitative researchers
• Assist in model development, implementation and testing
• The ability to work well within a team environment

Background
• University Degree in Finance or Economics with 3-5 years of experience as an analyst in a financial organization.
• The candidate must be articulate, know the markets, and appreciate risk/reward.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is a must; fluent in Japanese is an advantage.
• Possess good analytical skills both in the qualitative and quantitative methods with the ability to appreciate macro-economic trends.

Requirements

• A recognized Degree in Accounting or a related professional qualification.
• At least 1-2 years of related working experience in corporate finance, gained from financial institutions or professional firm is preferred.

Role and Responsibilities
• Overseeing a wide range of corporate financial activities which includes execution and documentation work, maintaining client relationships.
• Assist the Supervisors to involve in execution and documentation work.

• 2 years credit analysis experience in financial industry.
• Good PC Skills in MS Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
• Proficiency in English, fluency in Japanese preferred
• Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

Requirements
• To propose credit approval authority for credit applications
• To review credit applications and provide recommendations.
• To perform regular credit monitoring of credit applications.
• To prepare weekly and monthly credit monitoring reports.
